Renaissance Capital
December found me in the magical city of Florence, where the gelato is plenty and the pizza authentic(!) where is almost a crime to have a cappuccino after noon, and where the whole city is an open-air renaissance museum with other museums within!
I came to my old friend city Florence to attend and present at the International Cartographic Conference. ICC 2021 – International Cartographic Conference
Great pleasure to meet conference people in real life, the first time away from zoom after so long. I was presenting a poster on my preliminary findings from the archival research on the uncertainty depiction of the Arctic, in European maps. Moreover, I had the honour to host some of the maps I made over the last 2 years at the map exhibition in the UK tables.
This trip was full of good surprises, I met wonderful cartographers, had the pleasure to attend amazing and very inspirational presentations and on top of that, I managed to be there on the day the first large-scale representations of the Tuscany region at Uffizi Galleries in Florence were back on display after 20 years! Well, that was a treat!
